Love this clip. 1984 does look dated. But their faces look as intense as anything today.
The level of competition in La Marmotte is extreme. Sure there are a few thousand fat guys, but there are also 1000 very PRO riders. If you love the bike it is hard to not love La Marmotte
Tourist rides are not Pro.
Amazing how old 1984 looked though.
